About Skye

Hi, I’m a guitar tutor with over 11 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Contemporary Music with a Guitar major. I have a deep passion for composing and arranging music, both for solo guitar and ensembles. Music has always been my way of expressing creativity, and I love sharing that with my students. My teaching style is supportive, engaging, and goal-oriented. I work with school students, hobbyists, and professional musicians alike, tailoring each lesson to individual needs. I focus on essential skills such as scales, modes, songwriting, rhythm training, and stage performance. These form the foundation for both technical mastery and expressive playing. I have guided students from intermediate to advanced levels, helping many prepare for professional work and live performances. Lessons are interactive, practical, and designed to inspire confidence and musical growth. I encourage creativity, experimentation, and a personal connection to the music. Whether you’re looking to refine your technique, develop original compositions, or perform on stage, I’m here to guide you every step of the way. Together, we’ll build skills, explore musical ideas, and develop a lasting passion for guitar. I look forward to starting this meaningful musical journey with you!

About the lesson

My teaching focuses on helping students grow from beginners to advanced guitarists while developing a genuine love for the instrument. I break down complex techniques into simple, manageable steps. We explore all styles, including classical, jazz, acoustic, electric, and bass.

I emphasize fingerstyle mastery, guiding students to play intricate patterns with confidence and expression. Alongside playing, I teach recording skills, helping students understand mic placement, sound layering, and mixing basics. Live looping and layering techniques are part of our sessions, allowing students to create full arrangements independently.

Performance refinement is key—I coach students on stage presence, timing, and expression, preparing them for live gigs and social media performances. I encourage creating original content, building unique sounds, and exploring new musical ideas.

Each lesson is interactive and hands-on, tailored to your goals. I support students in excelling as performers and recording artists, giving them the tools to shine in both live and digital spaces.
