About Barnaby

I'm from North London. I started to learn guitar when I was about 15 years old, and it has brought a lot of joy to me. I can teach a mix of classical and flamenco guitar techniques.
If you’d like to learn how to play Flamenco rhythms, various rasgueado techniques, how to read music for guitar, finger picking, playing melodies, and approaches to practicing & studying on your own, then I can show you, with various exercises and pieces.

About the lesson

If you are a beginner on guitar or have never even touched a guitar and you're not sure where to start, then I can start to show you some basic things. Everyone learns at different paces, and there is no single method that works for everyone.
I can teach techniques for playing nylon stringed guitar, so ideally you’ll have a nylon string guitar (although if you only have a steel string guitar, and that is what you want to play, then we can work with that also).
I prefer teaching in person, so you can come to my place, or I am happy to travel to your place depending on distance, however if online lessons is what you want, I can do that also.

I’ve had the pleasure of watching Barnaby play for years, and his skill and passion for guitar are genuinely impressive. He has an incredible ear for music and can often work out and recreate songs within minutes, turning them into beautiful acoustic arrangements that sound effortless.

What stands out most is not just his technical ability, but his enthusiasm and versatility. Whether it’s a classic track, a chart hit, or the latest song requested by his nieces, he approaches every piece with creativity and attention to detail.

Barnaby is patient, approachable, and clearly loves sharing music with others. His dedication to his craft is evident in every performance, and it’s obvious that playing guitar is far more than just a hobby for him.

I would highly recommend Barnaby to anyone looking for a talented guitarist, teacher, or musician.
