About Kessley
I hold a Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance and a Master of Music in Contemporary Music, with 7 years of experience teaching students of various ages and skill levels. My teaching philosophy blends technical precision with expressive musical exploration. I provide lessons that include structured practice, improvisation exercises, repertoire development, and performance coaching to ensure comprehensive musical growth.
I focus on developing technical skill, musical expression, sight reading, improvisation, and performance readiness. Lessons are tailored to each student’s goals, skill level, and preferred musical style. I aim to create an encouraging, supportive environment where students can experiment, take risks, and grow musically.
Beyond teaching, I remain actively engaged with music through performance, composition, and continuous study. This allows me to bring contemporary techniques and real-world experience into lessons. I find great joy in helping students become confident, expressive, and versatile guitarists, nurturing both technical mastery and a deep love for music.

My lessons focus on fingerstyle technique, chord progressions, strumming patterns, tone shaping, improvisation, solo development, and performance skills. I combine structured exercises, repertoire practice, improvisational challenges, and stage performance guidance to create engaging and practical lessons that nurture confidence, technical skill, and musical creativity.
Beginners learn chord shapes, simple scales, rhythm exercises, basic songs, and finger dexterity. Intermediate learners refine barre chords, lead guitar techniques, solo phrasing, improvisation, and expressive playing. Advanced students focus on advanced soloing, improvisation over chord changes, tone shaping, performance strategy, and stylistic interpretation. Each session includes personalized instruction, practice strategies, and constructive feedback to foster steady and sustainable improvement.
Guitar study encourages musical independence, creativity, and confidence in performance. Students develop both technical skills and expressive artistry while exploring diverse musical styles. My goal is to support learners in achieving mastery over technique, musical understanding, and performance presence, helping them play confidently and creatively while enjoying the process.
