About Alfonso

Spending my days doing the actual work on stage changed how I explain music to you today. After graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Popular Music from USC Thornton School of Music, I focused on how to make complex ideas simple. It is just about getting the gear and tone right first.

You might come for grade exam prep or just to figure out how to play barre chords or power chords. I keep a running record of what works for your hands because music theory and acoustic technique should feel natural. Whether we are drilling strumming patterns or diving into improvisation and soloing, the goal is clarity. Ear training and reading tabs are just tools we use to make sure it clicks and stays clicked.

Teaching works better when we treat the instrument as a machine that needs calibration before we play. You do not need to memorize scales if you do not understand the shape of the fretboard underneath your fingers.

Some folks come to me out of pure curiosity, while others have 1 test or 10 songs they need to conquer. We spend our time fixing the physical mechanics so the music flows without resistance.

I am a gear and tone geek, so we will spend time dialing in your amp to get a sound that keeps you coming back. We tackle 1 task at a time, moving through improvisation and soloing at your own speed.

If the rhythm feels off, we stop and adjust the technique until it sits correctly. We verify that every lesson leaves you with 1 clear win. This 10.0 out of 10 experience starts with a free trial session to assess your starting level.
