About Zoe

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Music with a concentration in guitar performance and have been teaching for over eight years. My academic background, combined with professional experience, enables me to balance technical precision with creative artistry, helping each student achieve meaningful growth at their own pace. Over the years, I have taught more than fifty students, guiding beginners through their first chords and supporting advanced learners as they prepared for recitals, auditions, or recordings. Many of my students have developed strong confidence in their playing and achieved milestones that once felt out of reach. Beyond teaching, I remain active in performing, composing, and exploring new styles of guitar music. Staying engaged as a musician allows me to bring fresh insights and evolving techniques into the classroom. My mission is to inspire students not only to play well but also to develop a lifelong connection with music.

About the lesson

My guitar lessons begin with building a strong foundation in technique, posture, and basic music theory. Students practice simple chords, strumming patterns, and scales to gain confidence in their playing. This initial stage helps learners establish essential habits that support future progress, regardless of whether they aim for casual or advanced levels.

As students grow, I focus on intermediate skills such as fingerstyle playing, rhythm variety, and fretboard fluency. Lessons include exercises that strengthen dexterity and accuracy, while introducing improvisation and solo-building techniques. By blending structured practice with creative exploration, students develop the ability to express themselves musically with clarity and control.

Performance and repertoire development are also emphasized throughout my teaching. Learners explore different genres—rock, blues, classical, or acoustic—to broaden their versatility. I provide strategies for stage confidence, memorization, and connecting with an audience. These lessons ensure that students not only master guitar techniques but also become confident and expressive performers.
