About Tricia

I began learning guitar when I was 13 years old, using a Squire electric stratocaster and a classical Spanish guitar with Nylon strings. I started learning contemporary styling, but then expanded to learn folk, blues, classical, and jazz stylings.

When I became an adult I began learning the audio engineering process which includes recording, pedal technology, and live sound expertise. At this point I combined my guitar knowledge with my knowledge of music theory, piano, vocals, and synthesis and became an independent recording artist.

After graduating college, I began working at a music school as a guitar, piano, and vocal teacher. I worked in both private music schools and as a freelance instructor. During this time I taught a range of curricula to my students of diverse ages and backgrounds.

Today, I am a musician, music instructor, and recording artist with ample knowledge of multiple instruments, audio engineering, and music teaching. It's my passion to help you develop your musicianship!

About the lesson

My lessons are tailored to my students needs. For each student, I develop a unique curriculum dependent on their previous experience, the music styles they are interested in, and their musicianship goals.

In each lesson, we begin with a warm up which combines technical ability with improvisational practice. This helps to connect the theoretical to the students practical musicianship. Then we focus on a selection of songs and exercises curated for my students needs, and use this framework to dive into the nuances needed in order to advance your guitar ability.

My lessons are curated for my students success. If a student wants to learn folk guitar, then we focus heavily on improvisational stylings, finger picking technique, etc. If my student wants to learn electric guitar, then we focus on refined finger movements, electrical music engineering, etc.

My lessons are for people of all ages and levels, and I am passionate about teaching music lessons which inspire my students to feel comfortable to enjoy their time with their guitar.
