About Akshay
Guro Akshay Ali is one of India’s Top Filipino Martial Arts expert and a practitioner of Bruce Lee’s Authentic Jeet Kune Do. With over 19 years of dedicated training and teaching experience, he is widely recognized as a pioneer of Authentic Pekiti Tirsia Kali in India and among the foremost names in Filipino Martial Arts nationwide.
His martial arts journey began with Jeet Kune Do, Wing Chun (Wing Tsun), and Authentic Pekiti Tirsia Kali, during which he trained and taught for two years at Shifu Kanishka Sharma’s Shaolin Gurukul. He continues his Jeet Kune Do journey under Sifu Octavio Quintero (Jerry Poteet lineage—direct student of Bruce Lee), maintaining an authentic and unbroken connection to Bruce Lee’s original legacy.
Guro Akshay Ali is the Managing Director and Chief Instructor of the Pekiti Tirsia Kali World Federation in India, appointed directly by Tuhon Rommel Tortal, the global head of the system. Under his leadership, Pekiti Tirsia Kali has grown steadily across India, with practitioners embracing its life-preserving principles, tactical effectiveness, and warrior ethos.
Guro Akshay Ali has had the privilege of training directly under the guidance of Tuhon Rommel Tortal, gaining years of dedicated training in Authentic Pekiti-Tirsia Kali. He holds the rank of Guro in Filipino Kali. As the Managing Director and Sole Authority for teaching Pekiti-Tirsia Kali in India, he plays a vital role in advancing the art’s practice in military, special forces, and law enforcement settings, with a strong focus on both unarmed combat and edged weapon techniques.
Filipino Martial Arts are globally respected for their proven effectiveness in military, law-enforcement, and special forces applications. Through Guro Akshay Ali’s leadership, India now has direct access to this authentic, combat-proven warrior system.
