About Heather Ann
My experience in the fashion industry as well as sewing for commercials and music videos propelled me to find my way to teaching. After having our two daughters, my husband and I knew we needed to be home more and wanted to use our skills in a way that could help others. I went through a Waldorf teacher training program which helped me hone my skills and focus on helping students grasp the ideas needed to find the confidence to sew a hat, or knit a cat! I also discovered plant dye for yarn and fabrics and am learning how to spin wool as I hope to have a farm with sheep one day.

During fashion design school , I learned to sew but my real lessons began when I taught myself to hand stitch. From my very first embroidery using blanket stitch I found out that our hands are our real teachers. My love for hand work grew from there as I also taught myself to knit. It is a big love of mine to share these fulfilling skills with others and an even bigger love to see my students thrive and invent their own ways of doing things for we are all unique. I cultivate our individual qualities as well as guide my students to create a beautiful finished piece of art.,
