About Malik
I'm a recent graduate of the LSE, Harvard Law School and the University of Oxford interested in mentoring. As an LSE student, I volunteered for a few years with the charity Urban Lawyers, becoming the youngest volunteer at a managerial level in the charity. Last year, I founded a social enterprise aimed at helping aspiring students from disadvantaged backgrounds succeed in law. I have particular interests in international human rights and commercial law, and have done pro bono work with the Harvard Human Rights Clinic. I also have particular interest in coaching aspiring university students through the application process. I come from a comprehensive state school background and I have unfortunately had my fair share of lacklustre teachers. So, I can understand why someone may want to look for tutoring. But, I have also been fortunate enough to have a few exceptional teachers and have learnt to distinguish between the two forms. These experiences are what have motivated me to take on tutoring roles.

The difference between an ok teacher and a great teacher is the ability to mentor. As such, I will make it my duty to identify what your goals are and to specifically shape a holistic plan to achieve that goal. An example of a specific branch of a holistic plan might be academics. So, my approach would be to ensure that you work both hard and efficiently. A lot of law students simply don't think they are smart enough, but the reality is most law students work hard enough and most law students are smart enough to graduate with a first. The difference between those that do and those that don't is the efficiency of their work. That means it is not just about knowing the subject matter and further readings. It is also about doing as many practice papers as possible and perfecting your essay writing skills. Further, when it comes to explaining confusing subject matter, I will ensure to adapt my elaboration such that it is one that you can understand. I will ensure that, by the time you sit an exam, you know *how* to write a first class answer. I will also help to make sure you are comfortable enough with your exam conditions to execute that first class answer in the exam hall. This same process would apply to any specific branch of a plan, be it interview technique, exam technique, personal statement writing or anything else; we will work to tailor the plan best suited for you!

Mahmoud is an outstanding role model and teacher. His empathy and sympathy has led him to leave lasting impacts on his students, me included. You can always come to Mahmoud with an issue, and he will respond with no judgements. This is what made me most comfortable with Mahmoud. These are few reasons of many as to why Mahmoud cannot be recommended enough to tutor students.
Mahmoud's help during my master's application to Ivy League universities was a game-changer. With his expertise and steady support, I landed a spot at Stanford University. Mahmoud's personalized advice and insightful feedback helped me stand out from the crowd. I highly recommend Mahmoud to anyone starting their academic journey—he's not just an advisor, but a mentor you can count on! Thank you Mahmoud.
Mahmoud has been exceptionally help. He has a unique way of breaking down what seem to be the most complex of topics and his feedback is priceless. I look forward to working with Mahmoud further.
Mahmoud has been an excellent tutor, and I’ve already seen great improvements with my work so far. His explanations made topics I have struggled with seem much easier, and through our sessions, I have gained more confidence. I am really enjoying our sessions and can’t wait to continue working with him!
