About Aaron
Hi, my name is Aaron! I’m currently majoring in mathematics at Harvard.
Throughout high school, I have been heavily involved with math. Part of my engagement has been with competitions, where I’ve selected, trained, and competed with teams for prestigious collegiate math tournaments, including PUMaC (Princeton), CMIMC (CMU), and HMMT (Harvard-MIT). Individually, I’ve also qualified for the USA Math Olympiad as one of the top 250 out of 300,000 initial competitors worldwide.
In school, I earned a score of 5 on the AP Calculus BC exam my freshman year, going on to take Differential Equations, Multivariable Calculus, Linear Algebra, Complex Analysis, and performing an independent research project in Elliptic Curve Cryptography my senior year. I’ve also attended selective math summer programs such as Ross, HCSSiM, and AwesomeMath. On my own, I love learning about the intersection of math and computer science, which has led to a successful research paper in Computational Fluid Dynamics earning a Top 300 award at the Regeneron Science Talent Search.
My teaching experience comes from my years as a math club president (2 years), team captain (2 years), and lecturer (3 years) – through which I’ve engaged with students learning introductory topics to accomplished researchers or math competitors. With a perfect ACT score of 36, I've also tutored SAT/ACT math for 3 years.

The beauty of math is that it is intuitive and connected. There is a recursive process by which complex results can be derived from more basic ones. Rather than having students memorize formulas, I strive to teach the techniques and thought processes which allow students to make the connection between one to the other – all through interactive examples, guided walkthroughs, and games (trash-talking optional).
