About Katherinne

I am a Harvard University graduate with a degree in Integrative Biology and a secondary in Economics, graduating with High Honors. My academic background includes scientific research at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Boston Children's Hospital, with expertise in biology, scientific analysis, and critical thinking.

I have experience tutoring, teaching, and mentoring students of different ages and academic backgrounds, as well as guiding high school students through the college admissions process, including application strategy and essay development.

I bring a patient, professional, and personalized approach to every session, with a focus on helping students strengthen their academic skills, build confidence, and achieve their goals.

*My approach to tutoring is more like coaching than a traditional classroom lesson. I grew up playing sports, so I've always appreciated how much a good coach can influence someone's confidence, motivation, and willingness to keep trying. I try to bring that same energy to tutoring!

*As the oldest of three sisters, I've spent plenty of time helping my younger siblings with schoolwork and finding creative ways to explain tricky concepts. I've also worked with students and adults from different backgrounds, which has taught me that everyone learns differently. Sometimes all it takes is a new analogy, a visual, or a different way of explaining something for it to finally click.

*I graduated from Harvard University with a degree in Integrative Biology and a secondary in Economics, and have a background in scientific research and healthcare. I have worked with students through Harvard Admissions and Financial Aid Office for 3+ years.

*I like to start by understanding what's working, what's challenging, and what you'd like to improve. From there, we'll work through concepts together using real-world examples, practice problems, and strategies tailored to your learning style. I also focus on test-taking skills, breaking down confusing questions, and building effective study habits.

I tutor middle school, high school, and introductory college students in biology, chemistry, general science, and math. I also help students through preparing for college applications.

Above all, I want our sessions to feel like we're on the same team. My goal isn't to lecture you for an hour, but to help you build the confidence and skills to tackle challenges independently, and hopefully have some fun along the way! :)
