About Umit

Hello! I’m a Harvard Economics graduate, Olympian swimmer, and math enthusiast. I hold the Harvard record in the 100 yard butterfly and have represented the Turkish National team for 9 years. I scored 800 in SAT Math and 780 in Math II, and I’m eager to share my knowledge and love for math with middle and high school students, helping them navigate through their assignments, prepare for exams, and more. I believe that with the right guidance, every student can excel in math. I look forward to helping you achieve your academic goals!

Perfect! Umit responded right away even though it was a holiday, and was willing to help me right away. Upon meeting up with him he was very polite, and we dove right into the lesson. He was really good at explaining and helping me understand the material that I was stuck on and was able to show me different ways of doing it. I had a great session with Umit and I am looking forward to more! He really is helping me feel more prepared for my test.

Mina missed a week of school due to illness and she has a trigonometry test on Friday. We covered the parts she missed and worked on some practice problems. She is a quick learner and I enjoyed tutoring her!
