About Tota
Hi! My name is Tota Garboua and I'm a recent college graduate from upstate South Carolina with a lot of experience working with young people. I was a tutor and book club leader with Brown Girls Read, a nonprofit organization inspiring a love of reading in girls of color aged 12-15. I also worked at the National Advocacy Institute, a summer camp for high schoolers interested in civic engagement. I am also an oldest sibling and frequently help my younger siblings and cousins with their homework!
Some of my other interests are art, creative writing, nature, cooking, and film. I'm so excited to meet and work with you!

Politics is all about creative synthesis - taking the information you've learned and connecting it to what you already know in a meaningful way. I want to help students understand history and politics by making it narrative, engaging, and personal. I like to have a "Session 0" with all my clients to understand where they are, what they'd like to work on, and how I can make it engaging for them. I am open to working with all grade levels from Kindergarten to High School.
