My approach to tutoring is centered on building trust, reducing stress, and helping students feel genuinely comfortable with the material. Chemistry can feel overwhelming, so I focus on breaking concepts down into clear, manageable pieces and explaining them in multiple ways until they truly click. I prioritize understanding over memorization and encourage students to ask questions freely without fear of judgment.
During a typical session, I start by identifying what the student is currently working on or struggling with, such as chemical nomenclature. From there, we review key concepts about covalent and ionic bonding, walk through example problems together, and then gradually shift responsibility to the student with guided practice. I check for understanding frequently and adjust my approach in real time based on their needs. When appropriate, I also connect concepts to real-world examples to make the material more relatable and easier to retain.
My lessons are ideal for middle school and high school students taking general chemistry courses, as well as introductory college-level learners who need support with foundational concepts.
