About Kyle
I have played guitar for 17 years and bass for 8 years. I play in a band and have a very strong understanding of techniques and theory that students need to become a great musician. Whether or not the student wants to play in a band, write songs, or just play for fun, my understanding of theory and proper technique will help them learn. I make sure students actually enjoy their lessons, so I always try to incorporate music that they like into lessons. This can range from teaching them their favorite songs to explaining theory behind songs they like. I have had guitar teachers in the past who have lessons and "homework" that are boring; this is something I avoid.

I base my lessons on giving proper technique, theory, and a bit of fun. I make sure students understand the basics of scales and how chords are formed. In parallel I like to make lessons fun for students, taking into consideration what songs they like and teaching them how to play those songs, and explaining some of the theory behind the songs they choose to learn.
Typically I will start a lesson by having the student tune their instrument and play some warm up phrases; such as chord progressions and scales. Then I will recap what we worked on last session to see the students progress. Next I will introduce new material for the student to work on. Finally I will give time for any questions the student may have and discuss what their goals in the future are, helping guide them to achieve these goals.
What sets me apart from other teachers is my care for each student. I have such a deep passion for music and want to help others who have that same passion achieve their goals. I make sure I tailor lessons to what a student wants, not just what I think they should learn.
