About Yiqi
I have been playing the piano for over 10 years, starting at the age of 7. My passion for music led me to graduate from the TFC Conservatory at the Merit School of Music, where I received multiple scholarships in recognition of my dedication and talent. Although I was awarded several music scholarships for college, I ultimately chose a different academic path. However, I have continued to pursue my love for piano through private lessons and joined the band during college, staying committed to growing as a musician and deepening my musical knowledge and skills.

My teaching approach focuses on building a strong foundation in piano by introducing fundamental skills and concepts in an engaging and age-appropriate way. I begin with short excerpts to help students gradually build confidence and technique, then slowly progress to longer and more complex pieces. Alongside piano practice, I incorporate basic music theory to deepen their understanding of rhythm, melody, and harmony. To spark and maintain kids’ interest, I highlight the fun and expressive side of piano through games, familiar tunes, and creative exercises, ensuring that learning remains both educational and enjoyable.
