About Mark
I was a key member of Telkom’s Y2K team, responsible for type certifying the voice network for compliance and ensuring that contingency plans were in place for all network elements as well as drafting Telkom’s Y2K policy and managing the Y2K Intranet Website.
My last function in Telkom was as a Project Manager in the Network Operations; Methods and Procedures group. We were responsible for all documentation (policies, procedures, process flows, work instructions ECT) within Network Operations. I not only facilitated workshops but also took it upon myself to author a number of the documents personally.
At Siemens I was the Siemens Project Manager responsible for the construction and commissioning of the Primary and Secondary Network Operations Centers for the Second Network Operator (NeoTel), including the co-ordination between the requestor and all the sub-contractors (Dimension Data ECT). This function ensured all financial and physical components of the project including back to back SLA’s with all contracted parties.
Next I was employed as the Operations Manager of Fillip Motors (panel beating & spay painting) responsible for all documentation, wages and daily operations. In July 2005, I bought Fillip Motors from the owner, changed the name to G&M Motors and successfully ran the business.
After this, I taught trades (Industrial Electronics, Electrical Trade Theory N1-N3) at the Zonderwater Technical College as well as facilitating various self-development programs (Peace Education, Reading for Redemption ECT) and various Christian programs/course
