About Taryn
My university degree was Astrophysics, with a concentration in Atomic Physics. I've taught students of all Physics and Maths levels for five years, including group classes. I've helped students get exceptional results in standardised US and UK exams. I've met students forced into Physics classes with little interest and no confidence and helped them to excel and enjoy the subject so much that they went on to major in it at university. I've consistently received amazing feedback (and gifts!) from grateful parents. I love to teach and make Physics and Maths interesting and truly enjoyable for my students.

My teaching method mixes lecture with tons of hands-on work by the students. I usually begin my classes with a short lecture and then give the students tons of problems to work on. As they work, I engage with the student or students as needed. If they're doing well and progressing I may sit back and let them do it. If they're confused or struggling, I'll step in as their guide and help them work out the answer themselves. I never give students the answer or how to do it directly, but, just the same, I never let them flail or get frustrated. I'm there as their constant guide if they need me.
