About Phila
Myname is Phila Dyantyi, currently based in Cape Town. I am holding a BSc(Hons) Computer Science from University of the Western Cape.
I have been a Maths tutor for about almost 8 years now. Tutoring High Schools learners, University students etc.
I love tutoring all sorts of math topics! Tutoring is a great opportunity to unpack the problems and concepts, so we can understand them deeply and identify them on exams. Having struggled myself in past classes, I understand how essential it is to build confidence in a supportive setting, through engaging problem solving with a tutor.
I've had students with major math anxiety or feelings of inferiority, and we've worked quickly to build understanding and confidence. Math can be easy when you see it clearly. Just because it's tough now doesn't mean it has to be that way!

My mission is to help students achieve a high degree of success in their mathematics by providing comprehensive, individually focused learning that prepares them for academic and life success, based upon their unique needs and goals. I provide a learning environment for my students which includes highly effective instruction, personalization of teaching, and confidence building measures.
I can teach Mathematics in IsiXhosa and English.
I teach Grade 1 - Grade 7 learners.
I value all my students, treating them with dignity at all times. Communication is the key so by developing ongoing communication with my students I am actually building a relationship and gaining knowledge.
