About Emory
I received my Master of Music degree from the University of South Florida where I was enrolled in the honors theory program. I am classically trained and I specialize in percussion and piano. Percussion has provided me with strong roots in theory regarding rhythm while my piano experience has provided me with further knowledge in the realms of harmony, scales, key signatures, pitch/interval recognition and music terminology.
I have also served as an adjunct professor of music at San Jacinto College in Houston Texas where I taught American Popular Music. So I am confident in teaching classical theory in addition to having an extended musical vocabulary in popular music from the late 1800's, to rock 'n' roll and beyond.

I teach exactly what my students want to learn once the prerequisites of that material have been thoroughly covered. All students are unique in some degree. So I enjoy teaching at the pace of the student and understand that learning styles change from student to student. I believe it is important to factor in the age, personality and musical taste of the student when determining a teaching method for a particular student.
