About Abu
Having completed (2019) graduate certificate course in Statistics (modules: Advances Mathematical methods and Statistics:Theory and Practices) with merit, from Birkbeck College, London, I have successfully completed (2022) an MSc in Applied Statistics (2020-2022) as a part time student at the same college. The modules taken in the course are: Probability and Stochastic Modeling, Statistical Analysis, Stochastic System and Simulation, Bayesian Method, Analysis of Dependent Data, and Linear and Non-linear Optimization. These modules have provided me a good theoretical foundation for statistical modelling and machine learning.
In addition, I have a diverse educational and research background in Computational/empirical Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology. I was involved in industry-academic collaborative research projects and worked in a multidisciplinary working environment. I am approachable, friendly, supportive, and seek to lead by examples.

TEACHING MODEL
My activities:
1. Make students comfortable in the classroom so they feel comfortable to share their expectations with me.
2. Encourage positive argument and critical questioning through individual work and group work and value every student’s contribution to create a friendly and social environment in the
class.
3. Promote the development of formal thinking by helping students visualize abstract things. Beyond class lecture, allow students group discussion, reading, and lab work.
4. Establish a sound student-teacher relationship.
Students’ activities:
1. Build up logical thought, deductive reasoning, and systematic planning.
2. Practice collaborative learning in the class and practical work in the lab based on the key ideas of a concept.
3. Do homework, classwork and lab work.
