About Kat

# About Me

I’m Kathleen Warren, a professional photographer, photojournalist, and ophthalmic photographer with more than 20 years of experience behind the camera. My career has taken me from weddings, events, portraits, food and beverage, and sports to editorial photography, fine art, and highly specialized medical imaging.

I have a background in **Visual Journalism from Brooks Institute**, and my professional work has taught me that great photography is about much more than knowing which button to press. It’s about understanding light, composition, timing, people, storytelling, and—most importantly—learning how to see.

As a photography tutor, I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions, experimenting, making mistakes, and developing their own creative voice. I tailor my teaching to each person’s experience, camera, interests, and goals rather than expecting everyone to learn the same way.

Whether you’re picking up a camera for the first time, want to improve your confidence, or are preparing to photograph weddings, events, food, portraits, or other professional work, I bring real-world experience and a practical, hands-on approach to every lesson.

I’m not here to turn you into a photographer who takes photographs like me. I’m here to help you become the photographer you want to be.

Learn the camera. Understand the light. Find your vision & tell your story!
