About Daisy

I am incredibly passionate about Spanish as a language but also the entire Hispanic culture and community as a whole. Spanish A-level was an eye-opening experience that helped me become entirely proficient in the language to a point of almost fluency. I absolutely adore the subject, loving it so much at GCSE to want to pursue at A-level and I love linguistics and language acquisition as a whole. Teaching for me would allow me to continue my love for Spanish as I’m unable to continue it as I go off to university. I can’t wait to share my knowledge with others and put my A-level and passion for grammar to good use!

About the lesson

I believe the most fundamental part about learning Spanish is fully exposing yourself to the language in order to learn new vocabulary and natural grammar used in everyday conversation and texts that may crop up in the exam.
After studying English Language at A-level, I can confidently say I understand the process of language learning and acquisition and while it’s more difficult for children in later life, it’s not impossible.
In my sessions, I would like to practise asking questions with students in order for them to practise their speaking and pronunciation. Speak to them in Spanish partially during the lessons to see what they understand. Go over grammar they may struggle with in translations/writing. Expand their vocabulary with reading and writing exercises and anything that students may feel they need help with.
As an A-level student, I had to learn the entire language and every grammar structure inside and out, and so I have many resources of websites and helpful flashcards that may help develop the language skills.
I can adapt to each exam board for GCSE level (although I am most confident for AQA having done that myself) and also foundation or higher tier levels.
In the past I have helped friends and siblings in teaching them subjects and would like to expand my passion into tutoring professionally.
I can do £25 / hour for 1, 1.5 or 2 hour long sessions, however frequently as needed.
