I have spent 12 fascinating years working in various educational settings including mainstream, SEN and SEBD schools and services, as a qualified teacher. Over this time I have explored and developed ideas about how children learn and what motivates them. I believe that all children are natural learners and that all children should excel within their learning environments. It is our duty as educators to ensure that every child acquires and develops skills to assist them in their lives. Most recently in my career I have been working in a Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) setting teaching small classes of children who's behaviour prevents them from attending mainstream schools. This unique experience has allowed me to explore alternative approaches to teaching, pupil engagement and delivery of the curriculum. I believe that when children are interested and motivated they function and learn well.
I specialise in engaging struggling and reluctant learners with outstanding results. I am experienced with working with children with ADHD, ASD, Dyslexia and Dyscalculia. I have also provided training and support for teachers, school support staff and other professionals working with children.
