About Bianka

I am a dedicated and professional private tutor with a strong passion for helping learners reach their full potential. I have over two years of tutoring experience, working with students across the Foundation, Intermediate, and High School phases. My background includes teaching Afrikaans, supporting reading development in both English and Afrikaans, and assisting learners with CAT (Computer Applications Technology). I also completed a Robotics and Coding course for the Foundation Phase, which allows me to integrate modern, relevant skills into my lessons.

My teaching approach is learner-centered, patient, and adaptable. I understand that every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to suit individual needs, whether a learner requires extra support, enrichment, or alternative explanations. I have experience working with neurodivergent learners, including those with ADHD, autism, and learning difficulties, and I create a safe, structured, and encouraging learning environment.

I am fluent in both English and Afrikaans and can teach comfortably in either language. In my lessons, students can expect clear explanations, step-by-step guidance, and interactive activities that make learning engaging and effective. I also assist with homework, exam preparation, and developing strong study habits.

My goal is not only to improve academic performance but also to build confidence, independence, and a positive attitude towards learning.

About the lesson

My approach to private tutoring is learner-centered and supportive, focusing on building confidence while addressing each student’s individual needs. I adapt my teaching methods to suit different learning styles, using clear explanations, practical examples, and interactive activities to make learning engaging and meaningful. What makes me unique is my experience working with diverse learners, including those with ADHD, autism, and learning difficulties, which allows me to be patient, flexible, and creative in my approach.

I am proficient in both English and Afrikaans and can comfortably teach in either language, depending on the learner’s preference and needs.

In a typical lesson, students can expect a structured but relaxed environment. Lessons usually begin with a short review of previous work, followed by introducing new concepts in a simple, step-by-step manner. I include guided practice, independent work, and continuous feedback to ensure understanding. I also assist with homework, exam preparation, and study techniques.

My lessons are aimed at Foundation Phase and Intermediate Phase learners, as well as high school students needing support in specific subjects such as Afrikaans, CAT, and general study skills. I work especially well with learners who need extra support, encouragement, or alternative teaching strategies to succeed.
