I have 34 years of experience in education with students ages 4-18 years. I am certified to teach ESL to Spanish bilingual students. I also have 17 years experience as an administrator PK-12th grade.

About Maria
I take great pride in my job and want to see the fruits of my work in your success. As a principal, I would always see what the students were doing. Bottom line, if they were not learning, then the teacher's work was not successful. I have dedicated my life to helping children learning. As the oldest of 7, I grew up helping my siblings with their homework. I tutored high school students while I attended college. After retiring, I worked for 3 years with new teachers, helping them to be effective teachers for the children they serve.

My lessons are relevant to your life experiences at school and at home. They are interactive and challenging. I work to get to know you and your abilities so I can tailor the lessons to fit you. I have a calm voice and annunciate each word clearly to ensure you understand my message, but speed up as needed in order to challenge you.
I use a variety of manipulatives and learning aides to ensure you get a chance to hear, see, speak and write the English language.
