About Willow
You walk in and we immediately pick up a guitar to check your current grip and posture. I find that starting with a song you actually like makes the process much more effective for intermediate learners.
I have taught 473 students, so I have seen almost every hurdle you might encounter while reading tabs or mastering strumming patterns. Song requests are turned into simplified arrangements to get you playing music right away.
We can spend time on lead guitar or grade exam prep depending on your specific goals. My 7 years of experience means I can switch gears quickly if a concept is not clicking for you. You will be playing your first song by the end of our time.

Adults often come to me feeling stuck in their routines, so I try to keep things feeling fresh. My path started with a BA Musique populaire from UQAM, which gave me a deep appreciation for the mechanics of song. I have worked with many different people, from those playing Québécois folk to students eager to master electric guitar techniques.
Teaching is simply how I share what I love most about the instrument. I enjoy the process of turning a complex piece into something approachable and clear. It is quite rewarding to see the progress happen over several months.
