About Eleanor
As a former a-level student I understand the importance of being able to achieve certain grades for different universities.I myself have had a tutor in the past to help me understand economics, a subject which isn’t usually taught before Alevels. It’s a hard subject to grasp but once the content and exam practice is understood then anyone can excel in the exams.
Taking economics in the university of Manchester allows me to learn more about this subject. This will be useful for teaching as I will be able to share case studies which aren’t taught in the specification. This will help gain evaluation marks as students can compare questions to events. Therefore being able to help new students learn such an interesting subject would be a pleasure.

Firstly, I will teach the content thoroughly with the student and help them to understand it by going through the specification step by step. Then applying this knowledge to exams from the past will help consolidate it. Marking these tests together will allow the student to learn structure, time pressure and reoccurring mistakes.
Previously I have taught sports lessons to a primary school for 6 weeks. This experience has allowed me to have communication and organisational skills.
I will be able to teach GCSE and alevel students for hourly sessions. I’m excited to teach the subject as I’m studying Economics in the university of Manchester.
