About Gemma
I have been teaching since I left university and have worked throughout the UK. I worked myself up to head of department of mathematics and was nominated for best teacher in the network by my headteacher. I always achieved the best results in the schools with some students predicted Es and yet I managed to get them up to a B in mathematics.
I am also a language graduate - I taught English in China, I learnt Mandarin and Spanish at university as well as French at school and Italian in my spare time. Learning a language is a magnificent and enriching experience - I would recommend it to everyone!

Whenever you TRY and put in HARD WORK (and have some fun on the side) you can ACHIEVE anything. My tutees ALWAYS have achieved their goal as a minimum and most have exceeded.
I put this down to creating excellent relationships with my students and constant interaction to see how their mind works so I can give methods and explanations that work FOR THEM. I use all sorts of ways to ensure my students MASTER the topic - not just learn the basics. These include using pictures and concrete objects as well as interesting situations to make the maths REAL, ACCESSIBLE and INTERESTING.
Tutoring and learning is my passion and now my full time pursuit.

Gemma was a fantastic maths tutor! I started tutor sessions with her with a D, and over a few months, she helped me achieve a B grade.
