About Philippa
I am an experienced science teacher working in comprehensive schools just South of Bath able to teach students in person and online.
I have a BSc in Chemistry and PGCE with a Science specialism. I've been teaching since 2014 and until recently was Head of Science for 3 years before stepping down to start a family.
I have experience in improving students GCSE grades from a prediction of a grade 3 to them achieving a Grade 5 in their Y11 summer exams. My previous Y11 classes have achieved 30% grade 9s (national average 13.%).
I am a positive and friendly person who is passionate about science and passing my knowledge to future generations. I am able to provide combined science tutoring sessions, GCSE Chemistry tutoring sessions and A level Chemistry tutoring sessions along with KS3 Science if needed. My lessons are a minimum of 1 hour long and I can provide sessions of up to 2 hours if needed.
I am a firm believer in teaching students the skills to be able to tackle exams effectively and ensuring content is understood rather than just learnt by wrote. This will set you up perfectly for further study too.
