I believe effective tutoring begins with understanding each student as an individual. Hence, I approach tutoring math and chemistry with straightforward practicality. After two years working with students from elementary to CEGEP levels, I've found that direct, personalized instruction works best. This means I simply adjust my methods based on what's actually helping you understand the material.
My lessons focus on what you need right now. We'll address immediate concerns first, then build understanding through clear explanations and targeted practice. I ask questions throughout to check comprehension because it's the most efficient way to identify where confusion begins. This keeps us from wasting time on concepts you already understand. Each lesson ends with a review to lock in key concepts.
My own academic journey included struggling with focus issues, yet I managed to excel (with a final grade superior to 100) in challenging courses like organic chemistry. This experience taught me practical strategies that I share with students facing similar challenges. My current internship in UdeM's Neurosciences Department and previous neuropsychology coursework have sparked my interest in effective learning techniques.
