About Ella
I live in New York City. I go to school specifically for fine art. I love art. It is a really big passion of mine. As a kid, I took a variety of different art classes, ones mostly focusing on drawing. I also studied psychology, another passion of mine. I enjoy learning about ways to soothe the mind. I love teaching art to people. I have taught drawing classes for young kids as well as kids in middle school. While it is important to get to know your students it is even more important to maintain a professional environment. I want my students to feel comfortable around me and not feel judged. I try my best to create a safe space so students can be themselves. I have struggled a lot with my mental health in the past. Art is one of the things that really helps me. It is a coping skill that I have learned and hope to teach to others.

I myself am a visual learner. I use videos and demonstrations when teaching. I teach drawing, so each lesson will focus on the basics of drawing. Every student has different understanding and strengths when it comes to art. Depending on what the student needs, I will come up with a specific lesson that applies to them specifically. As a tutor, I prioritize my students' well-being. Whether they don't feel well or are not really in the mood to do art, I will try my best to accommodate their needs. I will not only teach my students the fundamentals of drawing, but I will help them to see through a creative lens. My lessons are typically for students who want to improve the quality of their art and expand their creative side. I prefer to teach ages 10-14, but I can also be flexible depending on the situation.
