About Ethan
Hello! I am a student at the University of Sydney where I am studying abroad from Trinity College in Hartford, CT USA. I am currently based in Darlington, Sydney. At Trinity College I am part of the NCAA Division III swim team as well as being a part of my varsity high school swim team before that and being a Mechanical Engineering Student. I enjoy photography, travel, sports, and learning about all things engineering.

My Approach to Tutoring and Teaching When I teach, I first focus on understanding what the student already knows and where the gaps are. I also take the time to see how they learn best, whether that’s through examples, practice, or explanation, so I can adapt my style to fit them. From there, I work on strengthening weaker areas through targeted practice, before moving on to new concepts in a way that feels natural and builds confidence. Lesson Structure A typical lesson runs for about an hour, but I adjust depending on the student’s needs and attention span. The aim is to balance review, skill practice, and learning something new without overwhelming the student. Experience and Background I have been swimming competitively for 8 years and teaching it for 5 years, working with learners at every level, from beginners just getting into the water to advanced competitive swimmers. Academically, I am currently studying Mechanical Engineering, which gives me a strong foundation for teaching math and physics. I have experience helping high school students develop problem-solving skills, strengthen their understanding, and prepare for exams. Who My Lessons Are For Swimming: all ages and abilities, from first-time learners to competitive athletes. Math & Physics: high school students looking to build confidence, improve grades, and master challenging concepts.
