Hi! I’m a qualified and passionate Afrikaans FAL and English HL teacher with over 10 years of high school experience, including as Head of Department. I’m certified in Grammar for English Teachers through WITS Language School, ICT Integration in Education a Microsoft Innovative Educator and I am a top creator in Quizlet. I create structured, supportive, and engaging lessons tailored to each student’s needs. I use technology, apps, and gamification to make learning interactive and effective. About the lesson

My Approach to Private Tutoring: I believe every student learns differently, and my lessons are tailored to suit individual needs, goals, and learning styles. My approach is structured, supportive, and highly engaging. With over 10 years of experience teaching Afrikaans and English at high school level (Grades 8–12), I bring both subject expertise and a dynamic teaching style to each session. One thing that sets me apart is my use of educational technology, apps, and gamification to make learning fun and interactive. From digital flashcards and language games to collaborative writing platforms and quiz-based tools, I incorporate tech to keep students motivated and reinforce key concepts in creative ways. Languages: I teach fluently in both English and Afrikaans, and I can switch between the two depending on the student's comfort and learning needs. What to Expect from a Lesson: Each lesson has a clear focus—whether it's mastering a tricky grammar rule, preparing for an oral, or improving essay writing. Who My Lessons Are For: I work with high school students (Grades 8–12) studying Afrikaans First Additional Language or English Home Language, across both IEB and CAPS curricula.
