Teaching Philosophy & Lesson Plan
As a young student myself, I understand how frustrating it can be to have teachers who think you’re not capable. That’s why my tutoring approach is patient, supportive, and paced to help each child truly understand the topic. I focus on making learning fun, interactive, and confidence-building.
Typical Lesson Plan:
Warm-up: Start with a quick multiplication test (e.g., 12 times tables) to get the student’s brain active. Over time, aim to reduce the time it takes to complete the test (from 5 minutes down to 2 minutes) as a fun challenge.
Lesson Introduction: Present the math topic in multiple ways, showing different methods so the student can find the approach that makes the most sense to them.
Guided Practice: Work through problems together, step by step, to ensure understanding.
Independent Work: Give a short assignment to practice the new skill on their own.
Assessment & Reinforcement: Use mini-quizzes or follow-up exercises to reinforce the lesson and track progress over time.
Goal: Help students build confidence in math, improve speed and accuracy, and develop a better understanding of concepts by working at a pace that suits them.
