About Amber
I am a mother of four wonderful children. I lost my sister and my nephew in the same year. These are the things that inspire me to become a full-time teacher and work with students. Being able to show a student to be successful. Having different characteristics such as empathy, listening, creativity and patience, helps me reassure the students to be successful.

My teaching methods include basic math teaching strategies. Pulling small groups for math intervention is a powerful way to target specific skill gaps while still using your basic math teaching strategies (modeling, guided practice, questioning, and repetition). The goal is to provide focused, short, skill-specific instruction to students who need extra support. I plan a short and focused lesson. One of the most effective basic math strategies is moving from hands-on to symbolic learning. Concrete: Use counters or blocks. Pictorial: Draw circles or number lines. Abstract: Solve with numbers only. This progression helps struggling students build conceptual understanding.
