About Shail
Hello my name is Shail and I am a student at UCT. I am currently doing my Masters in Transport Engineering and Planning. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. I come from Mauritius and I have been in Cape Tow for the past 6 years.
My hobbies are to travel, do sports and music. I have also been a French tutor for the past five years. I like to teach because it's cool to show something that one knows. I do mostly online teaching these days, except if the student is close, but before I used to travel everywhere around Cape Town to teach. This had a lot of impact in me becoming a transport engineer.

My approach focuses on getting to know the basics before tackling complex concepts. This go towards having a high work load at the beginning, followed by medium-rate technical problem tackling. I take note on the performance of the student on a weekly rate and at the end of the month, we make use of a progression graph to understand our position and know what to do to tackle our weaknesses and reinforce our strengths.
I can teach in English and French. In a friendly and relaxed environment, I ensure that the student is able to maximise their concentration in their work. In addition, I can teach to anyone and to any age, whether they are beginners or intermediate or, experts coming back and brushing the dust off their old skills.
