About Hugo
Right now I’m part of SIU’s Spanish Professor cohort. I have been peer-reviewed and given extensive teaching courses. My supervisors and peers best describe me as someone familiar, friendly, and easygoing, and I love to show that in the way I teach. As a matter of fact, I also have experience with bilingual kids and language acquisition as I have been a bilingual support aid in Public Elementary Schools in the State of Illinois for two years now.

I have a strong background in student motivation and lesson planning. My biggest strength is my knowledge of multiple varieties of spoken and written Spanish, not just my own. I have taught multiple courses for different proficiencies and purposes. I’m passionate about teaching and languages; I love learning new words every chance I have!
