Hello Parent! My name is Gus and I have been a tutor or mentor to young people since before I finished school myself. At school I worked on an anthology of creative writing by YOs at HM Norwich, and ever since then have sought ways to support young people through challenging times. I worked for seven years with leading Knightsbridge tuition agency Enjoy Education, as well as privately. My slogan/MO for private tuition has always been 'nurturing ambition' - I've been an instructor in the Japanese tuition franchise of Kumon for a year and a half, and was a Montessori student myself, so am very interested in early development, particularly in Literacy. I've also been a Primary TA and SEN TA in state and private schools, including London's very best. I specialise in dyslexia, motivation/socio-behavioural issues, study skills and EAL (English as an Acquired Language) - anything that may be acting as a roadblock to education. I also work in careers counselling and university or college application support.
I have taught all subjects up to GCSE level, but beyond GCSE, I specialise in English, Arts and Humanities. I studied English Language & Literature at the University of Leeds, and also have a Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Filmmaking from NYFA (New York Film Academy). I can also teach a wide variety of creative softwares, from Final Cut (film editing) to Logic (music production) to Powerpoint.
Helping people find their groove is something I really enjoy.
