The more complete and detailed your ad, the more credibility it will have with students and the higher up the lists it will rise. Here are some tips:
The title of your ad must be more than 12 words.
Write down at least 40 words in the "Teaching" and "Experiences" sections of your ad;
Do not forget to validate your phone number and your email address by clicking verify;
Add your qualifications to the site in the form of a diploma or certificate;
Add a clear, portrait photo to your ad;
Ask your friends, family, and former students to leave you a recommendation;
Add a video to your ad, it's a real plus!
You also need to be as responsive as possible to the lesson requests you receive. The faster you answer, even if it's to decline the request, the higher your profile will be ranked. 👍
Have your Superprof students leave reviews on your profile. You can leave a review for them too a week after the lesson has been accepted. If you do an automatic email will be sent, inviting them to do the same.

Creating your tutor ad could not be simpler, just follow the step by step instructions on Superprof and fill out each section. Here are a few helpful tips to help make it as visible as possible to potential students, allowing them to find you:
Highlight your Strengths (your skills, your experience...)
Ask yourself why a potential client may choose you over another peer tutor. Explain what differentiates you and makes your private lessons exceptional. Explain your learning style and teaching methodology.
Tell your Story
Teaching is not just about passing on your knowledge; it is also about building a bond of trust with your students. Showing your human side is very important. Showing that you’re an interesting and thoughtful person, willing and capable of listening to others. Mention your hobbies, groups you’re part of, your travels, your past work experience, and successes in life.
Focus on the Benefits: What are you Providing to your Future Students?
Try to avoid technical terms difficult to comprehend. Also avoid bland or cliché phrases that do not detail what you will provide. For example, do not just say “I teach maths at all levels and for all abilities", mention the exact levels at which you teach (GCSE, A-level, Gmat, Sats, college etc.) as well as the exact topics (algebra, trigonometry, geometry, calculus, etc.)
Include a Picture that Makes you Stand Out
Clear frontal photos of your face are an important way for students and teachers to learn about each other. You will increase the number of contacts you make 10 fold by adding a high quality, profile picture of yourself.
Review your Ad
An advertisement full of mistakes will not be taken seriously. Re-read your ad with a text editor and make a final review before publishing.
If you do not have a review from a Superprof student already, we require you to offer your first lesson for free. Even if you do have a review, Superprof recommends that you offer the first class for free because;
It allows you to make a connection with the student
The purpose of the first meeting is not to give a class to your pupil, but to get to know and understand what their needs are, set up a lesson plan and a teaching method that will allow your pupil to reach his/her goals.
It is a small investment for a greater reward
Offering one hour of your time for free to a student who may use your services all year and spread the word about your services is an excellent investment.
It reassures students
Students will contact you more frequently; it is more engaging for them.
The first lesson offered for free is a chance for you and your student to get to know each other however, it does not have to be a formal lesson unless you and the student agree amongst yourselves to do so.
The first free lesson could be a discussion about your aims and objectives or your teaching methods for example, or it could be a trial lesson to assess the students ability.
Whatever form your free lesson takes, be sure to agree this with the student before hand, and make sure they understand what is being offered in this first meeting.

Make sure you get paid! We offer a secure lesson payment system, via your Superprof account.
In order for lessons to be paid online, you must click on the tab “propose a lesson”, from the site’s messaging system, and validate it with the student. You do this by clicking the "+" button at the bottom right of the conversation and offering a single lesson or packs of 5 -10 hours of lessons to your students.
The student will be able to pre-pay for the lesson by credit card or Paypal and this will automatically appear in your balance. The amount will then be paid to you 24 hours after the course has taken place (assuming no problem has been reported).
To receive this money you will need to approve a method of payment (Paypal) via which to receive your funds. As a reminder, be sure to schedule lessons directly in your Superprof calendar so we know when they are finished.
Please note that if you choose to be paid through Superprof a 10% commission will be taken from your hourly rate to cover administrative and transactional fees. If you sign up to the Premium pass, however, this commission will be waived and you will keep 100% of the hourly lesson fee.
If you do not wish to use the secure payment system you are free to organize payments privately outside the website but at your own risk.

It’s simple! Find your tutor through our search engine.
Choose your subject and yourcity or neighbourhood, and that’s it! You’ll be able to access thousands of our best tutors, who are available to give lessons near you or via webcam.
Once you have run the initial search, you’ll be able to filter it by level, price, distance, ...
When you have chosen a tutor, you can contact him or her by clicking on the "Book a lesson" button, found on the top right of the ad.
We ask our tutors to be as transparent as posible in their teaching ads and carefully detail their experience, methodology and resume.
Verification of their personal details and the information provided
We verify the identity, personal details (telephone number, e-mail address, photo) and university diploma of all of our tutors.
100% authentic reviews – The strength of the community
We verify all of the reviews and recommendations that our tutors receive to guarantee that they are 100% authentic. Only our members can leave reviews for our tutors. You can rest assured that our tutors are excellent, competent and available thanks to our community of millions of students!
Both their ratings (for example: 5/5) and their response time (for example: 1 hour) are displayed and refreshed in real time.
You can also see the tutor’s last connexion on Superprof so that you can check their recent activity on the site.
Recommendations from their former students and friends
The reviews and recommendations the tutors receive from their former students can give you an idea of the quality of their lessons and their teaching style.
In order to message tutors, you will be asked to pay a $39 fee, which is not connected with an individual tutor's rates. The Student Pass is valid for 1 month and continues on a rolling basis after your first accepted tutor response. Your payment will only be fully processed once you have received an accepted request from a tutor.
Your Student Pass will allow you to message tutors for the period of the subscription. Your Student Pass is automatically renewed after 30 days. It is non-binding and you can cancel your subscription at any point via your dashboard. It will then continue until the end of the current 30 day period.
Once a lesson request is accepted by a tutor and the contact details are transmitted to the student, Superprof will not be able to refund to the student pass. The student can only be reimbursed if the teacher is unavailable. Depending on the case, proof may be requested in order to be able to reimburse.
You can either take your lessons offline, and organize payments privately between yourself and the tutor, or, you can pre-pay for lessons beforehand by paying through Superprof.
We strongly recommend that you use Superprof to manage your payments as it adds a level of security to the process. If the lesson does not take place or there are any issues you can report them and dispute the payment within 24 hours of the lesson finishing.
After a tutor accepts a request you will be asked to organize the first lesson. Before the lesson is confirmed you will need to fund your account with the lesson fee. This money is held by us until 24 hours after the lesson takes place and then sent to the tutor.
If you book a 5h or 10h lesson pack, you will be debited the full amount, to begin with. The tutor will receive the amount in two parts, the first 50% after acceptance and the second 50% when all the hours of the course have been scheduled and completed.
Refunds are given in certain circumstances. Once a lesson request is accepted by a tutor and the contact details are transmitted to the student, Superprof will not be able to refund to the Student Pass. The student can only be reimbursed if, due to the fault of the tutor, no lessons have taken place, including any free lessons. Depending on the case, proof may be requested in order to be able to reimburse.
If the student is able to provide proof which confirms the unavailability of the tutor, Superprof will reimburse the initial month of the Student Pass, however, subsequent monthly payments will not be refunded as these remained of responsibility of the student to cancel.
In the case that a tutor has refused to give lessons because the student has asked them to complete homework, coursework, exams, or other work on the student's behalf, a refund will not be given to the student.
