I start off by teaching my students how to write the letters. After that is mastered we go I to words. After I make sure that sentence structure is found to be natural for the students.
In regards to speaking Arabic we start with letter pronunciation. Then we start with words and basic conversation. Conversation will steadily increase to full Arabic conversation based on the students preperation and eagerness to learn.
I taught English speaking missionaries standard Arabic as well as the Iraqi dialect of Arabic for two years. I also am in the process of teaching my wife who is American. I am a native Arabic speaker. I teach standard Arabic as well as the Iraqi dialect.
