About Bert
Truthfully, I teach because the process of translating a musical idea into reality is better when shared. After 6 years of producing and teaching guitar, I know that finishing is the most important step for any musician.
My BS Audio Engineering degree provides a solid foundation for every lesson I lead. I focus on electric technique, power chords, and barre chords to get your hands moving correctly.
We explore chord transitions and essential maintenance to keep your instrument in top shape. Writing songs is a central part of my curriculum. I enjoy seeing progress. My approach is practical and patient as we move through your personal musical goals.

The smell of fresh guitar strings and the buzz of a clean amp signal start our time together as we review your progress through a monthly recorded update. I provide feedback that aligns with your specific goals, ensuring that grade exam prep or song development remains on track. Because I have 6 years of experience, I can quickly pinpoint the technical hurdles in your playing style and show you how to move past them with ease. My goal is to make sure you have the tools to practice effectively between our meetings so you can play with true confidence.
Dealing with the nuances of electric technique requires a steady hand, and I take pride in helping you refine those small movements until they feel natural. It is quite satisfying to watch a student bridge the gap between struggling with a difficult chord transition and playing it with total control and smooth rhythm. Every minute we spend together is dedicated to building your capability as a musician who can finish what they start. I really appreciate the creative energy that flows when we finally land on a sound that reflects your true voice.
