About Hal
My personal art style is incredibly fluid, often using a variety of different mediums within one piece. Themes that I consistently return to include humans’ connection to the landscape, childhood loss, and reflections on memory. While I am not sketching or creating collages, I am working for a municipality as a landscape architect. My daily tasks include drawing technical documents, digital rendering, and CADD.

My goal is to encourage young people’s creativity. The creative process is a long one, and everyone starts somewhere. I am able to meet teenagers where they are at—whether they are preparing for their first middle school drawing class or preparing portfolios to submit to colleges. My hope is that all students achieve their goals through this tutoring process, and I believe they should be the ones creating these goals—not me. Each student’s lesson plan will be tailored specifically to their interests.
