About Andrew
Hi, I’m Andrew! I am a high-achieving student and currently one full year ahead in the BC mathematics curriculum. Because I am actively mastering advanced high school coursework with top-tier grades, the concepts, test structures, and provincial standards are incredibly fresh in my mind.
I know firsthand how overwhelming math can feel when a textbook or a classroom teacher moves too quickly. My goal is to break down that frustration. I specialize in helping middle school and early high school students (Grades 6–9) build core confidence, fix stubborn gaps in their foundational understanding, and pick up sharp study habits.
What sets my approach apart is that I don’t just teach students how to memorize a formula—I show them the underlying logic so they actually understand how a problem works. I bring a patient, organized, and friendly peer-to-peer energy to every session, creating a comfortable space where students feel completely welcome to ask questions, make mistakes, and build genuine academic confidence. Let’s work together to make math your strongest subject!

I specialize in helping middle school and early high school students (Grades 6–9) conquer math anxiety, catch up on core concepts, or get a head start on next year's material. I actively fast-tracked one full year ahead in the BC mathematics curriculum with top grades; the material, test structures, and sticking points are incredibly fresh in my mind.
What sets me apart is my peer-to-peer approach—explaining concepts through relatable logic rather than rigid textbook definitions.
My 60-Minute Lesson Blueprint:
05 Mins | Target & Troubleshoot: We review the student's current school unit, check recent homework, and pinpoint the exact concepts or upcoming test topics to conquer.
15 Mins | Interactive Concept Breakdown: I teach the core topic step-by-step using a collaborative "I Do, We Do, You Do" strategy to build foundational understanding before working independently.
35 Mins | Independent Practice & Test Prep: The student applies the new skill directly to school assignments and mock test questions while learning the formatting habits BC markers look for.
05 Mins | The "Reverse Teacher" Wrap-Up: To lock in the knowledge, the student explains the concept back to me in their own words, and we map out the strategy for the next session.
