About Retaj
I am a high-achieving student with strong academic performance in Mathematics, currently predicted an A at A-Level. I have experience planning and delivering Mathematics lessons, which has helped me develop a clear and structured way of explaining complex topics.
My teaching approach is patient and supportive, with a strong focus on building understanding from the basics. I break topics down into simple steps and adapt my explanations to suit each student, helping them gain confidence and avoid feeling overwhelmed.

My teaching approach in Mathematics is focused on building strong understanding from the basics. I am very patient and make sure students fully understand each step before moving on, rather than rushing through topics. I break problems down into simple, clear steps so students can follow the logic and gain confidence in their ability.
In my lessons, I adapt to each student’s level and learning style. I use step-by-step explanations, worked examples, and guided practice to help students understand not just how to solve a problem, but why each step works. I regularly check for understanding and revisit concepts when needed to ensure a solid foundation.
A typical lesson lasts around 60 minutes and can include reviewing school topics, strengthening weak areas, and practising exam-style questions. I also focus on helping students avoid common mistakes and develop a clear method for solving problems.
I have experience planning and delivering full Mathematics lessons, which has helped me develop the ability to explain complex topics in a simple and structured way.
My lessons are best suited for primary and lower secondary students, including those preparing for KS2 or early GCSE levels, or anyone looking to strengthen their understanding and confidence in Maths.
