About Clayton
Instruction is centered on building a solid foundation through 13 years of dedicated practice and teaching. My background includes earning an MMus Music Performance from the Australian National Academy of Music. These credentials support the work I do with pupils ranging from nervous beginners to grade exam candidates.
Developing skills in rhythm and timing, ear training, and tuning by ear remains the core of my method. Sight reading, vibrato, and intonation are introduced alongside focus on posture and hold, shifting positions, and orchestral playing. I enjoy meeting students exactly where they are currently in their musical journey. Keep practicing and reach out soon.

You receive a structured approach that draws heavily on my MMus Music Performance degree to ensure your technique is technically sound and ergonomically safe. Integrating specialized training from the Australian National Academy of Music, I provide a 7.0 standard of excellence in every technical area including bowing mechanics and left-hand facility.
Because I prioritize clear communication, I provide a monthly progress report shared with parents to keep everyone aligned on goals. You will find that my direct manner helps address gaps in sight reading or shifting positions immediately.
These sessions are built to be energetic yet focused on the specific skills needed to progress toward orchestral performance. Your development is tracked through careful observation of your daily practice habits. I look forward to working with you to refine your craft in a supportive environment.
