About Ava

As an older tutor with a strong background and my passion for helping students and others in the community, I am committed to providing students in the highest level of support and guidance. My experience and dedication to students learning journey will ensure that not only do students understand the material but also gain the confidence and drive to excel in their studies and their path.

About the lesson

Students should study with me because I offer a variety of teaching methods such as differentiated instruction and design, scaffolding,formative assessments, collaborative learning, accessible materials, and flexible scheduling. A typical lesson plan for me would consist of a review of what was discussed last session, review, and then an introduction to new material if the student is comfortable and confident with their knowledge of the last lesson. Direct and interactive instruction is followed up by guided practice, independent practice, review, a short assessment, review, and closure. In between lesson plans breaks are allowed and very strongly encouraged. What sets me apart from other tutors is that I'm very inclusive and open ended when it comes to younger students and how they choose to learn. I strive to not only teach students the academic material but to teach them life skills that will make learning in any aspect easier as well. The target audience of my lessons range from as young as 6 years old (Kindergarten) to 14-16 (freshman and sophomores)

If anyone is in a specific budget I'm flexible and open to working around that. I work with all budgets just send me a message so we can get everything sorted out before hand!

If you need to reschedule or cancel a tutoring session please let me know in advance.

Supplies such as writing utensils, notebook paper, staplers, sticky notes, art supplies, and selected text books will be issued if need be, if your student needs access to hard copies or anything outside of the following please let me know in your message as well!
