About Jazzmyn

Hi, I’m Jazzmyn! I just finished my first year as a high school Algebra teacher, but I’m no longer teaching full-time so I can focus on my Master of Public Health studies. That’s why I’m excited to be tutoring again: helping students build strong math and science skills while gaining confidence. With over four years of tutoring and teaching experience, I’ve worked with students from diverse backgrounds to make challenging subjects more approachable and understandable. I tailor my lessons to each student’s needs and learning style, combining patience and clear explanations with real-world examples. My background in education and public health gives me a unique perspective on how people learn and stay motivated, especially when facing difficulties. I’m professional, approachable, and dedicated to supporting you every step of the way. I can help you reach your goals whether you want to improve your grades, prepare for tests, or simply enjoy math more.

About the lesson

I’m all about helping students feel confident and capable in math and science, even if those subjects haven’t clicked before. My teaching style is calm, encouraging, and flexible. I break things down step-by-step, use real-life examples, and adjust each lesson to fit how you learn best.

What a Lesson Looks Like:
We’ll start with a quick check-in, review past material, then jump into new topics with examples and guided practice. I’ll ask questions, help you think through problems, and make sure you really understand with no rushing and no judgment!

My tutoring rate is $40 per hour, with no extra fees during lessons to keep things simple and transparent. For in-person sessions, I charge a small $5 travel fee to help cover transportation costs. To make sure my tutoring style is the right fit for you, I offer a free 30-minute first lesson with no strings attached. This way, we can get to know each other, discuss your goals, and see how I can best support your learning before you commit to regular sessions.
