About Marlon

I am a high school student, currently in an AP calculus class. I have been tutoring people in mathematics and helping my peers with their mathematical understanding throughout my entire school career. I have tailored my teachings to incorporate academic vocabulary in my teachings and easy to understand definitions that are rigorous enough to impress any professor.

About the lesson

I base a lot of my teaching on multiple text sources and guidance from khan academy. I also encourage my tutees to bring notes and texts from their school's curriculum to tutor what needs to be tutored. I also incorporate multiple challenging examples of the subject at hand to instill problem solving strategies for all problems. My goal as a tutor is not only to help a client pass their class, but to excel in it and to gain the need to discover more about math.

A diagnostic test will be given on the first day, as well as a personality questionnaire. I want to have a good understanding of how all of my clients learn and what they understand already, in order to avoid re-teaching when unnecessary and to ensure that they are learning in the best way possible.

I tutor from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturdays and Sundays. On other days, I will be in school, so I will not be able to tutor then. However, this does not make my tutoring any less of an obligation to you. If you request me, it is for a reason and I will do everything that I can to help you learn.

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance with no penalty. No penalty is charged for cases of emergency. Unexcused delinquency will result in a charge of 5 dollars for each offense. last minute cancellation will not result in a refund of charges.

All of My lesson will only come up to two Hours long. Math is a difficult subject and it is even harder of a subject to try and grind in all of the information in your head. This is to ensure that a client does not fall victim to stress over load and is able to work at a steady enough pace to learn a subject, practice it, and understand it sufficiently.
