About Obert Batsirai
To turn your classroom Inyo a place where high levels
of engagement and deep learning happen everyday.
My techniques or strategies target learning that sticks
and becomes learner centred from the outcomes point
of view. The most important aspect of learning is
motivation of learners that is achieved by tailor student
making to student ability.
Once learners are engaged, they need to commit to
learning through using questions or examples from real
examples that I have gained from my years of
experience as an Operative as well as Manager in the
Telecomms Industry.
High level questions and student explanations used
throughout my lessons generate formative feedback
that is used in lesson plans for student to make sense
of what they would have learnt and the need to want to
go deeper and consequently new learng to avoid
learning the fast learners. Peer assisted consolidation
of learning is achieved through one on one discussion
with me or peers in groups to practice and reflect
through reviews everytime before moving forward.
When they have learnt the skills gained up to that level
are put to tedtvon applied example through student
tailored and structured problem solving. This then
demystifies Maths from the view that Maths are
problems to solve to Maths are necessary life tools in
everyday life

Targeted, efficient, bespoke and relaxed in short. I will encourage, not humiliate. Topics are pitched perfectly and lessons are tailor made to my student. The way I teach will be informed by them, their ability and where they are in their development of mathematical thinking.
Exam rubric will feature heavily and weaknesses will be consolidated over time. Because I have been an examiner for certain mathematics exams, I know how the papers are marked, and how best to structure answers so full marks can be gained.
Short term gain is not the only thing on the menu, either. I aim to help students over the long term by also discussing revision strategies and memory aids to ensure that topics covered in sessions will remain fresh and exam ready.
I aim to do much more than just increase grades however. I aim to inspire, increase confidence and show that Maths is something that everyone can do by using my Telecommunications Operations experience and maturity to connect Maths to practical life examples making the subject more interesting.
